Thua Thien Hue - a land of rich cultural and historical traditions - is located in the Central major economic region. Thua Thien Hue is endowed with various advantages in terms of geography, natural resources and landscapes. Though partly damaged by time and above all by war, Hue ancient city's architectural complex, in general, remains nearly intact and is considered a cultural heritage of the country and the world. Moreover, Hue is also well-known as a center of intangible spiritual culture with classic and royal music. For such reasons, Hue was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage in 1993 by UNESCO.
